Michael Tampilic

Michael's education started with mathematics, and upon graduating he worked in the IT field where he honed his problem solving abilities. Feeling the itch from his creative side, Michael was drawn towards design and enrolled at the Ontario College of Art and Design. There he would learn Industrial Design from great Canadian designers and new points of view from his peers. He would discover that designers have a unique role in shaping the future of the world we live in.

Michael believes that design stems from empathy towards humanity. His ideal of successful design starts with understanding human behaviour and getting to know who he is designing for; recognizing current events and new technology in order to forecast trends; then applying multiple iterations of conception, ideation, prototyping, and experience scenarios to arrive at a solution that meets user needs.

Michael is driven by a thirst for knowledge and a love for design process. He is fascinated with what biomimetics brings to design and how it can help humanity and the environment. A problem solver at heart, he strives in a collaborative environment. Enthusiastic and eager, he is always looking to provide innovative solutions through design...and having lots of fun doing it!
